The Firm

About Coin Trace

An independent firm built for one purpose, rigorous, honest digital asset investigation and recovery.

Who we are

Coin Trace is an independent digital asset investigation and recovery firm. We work with individuals, attorneys, and organizations affected by cryptocurrency theft, fraud, and loss. We trace the movement of digital assets, establish a clear and well documented picture of where funds have moved, and where a viable recovery path exists, we pursue their return.

What we specialize in

Cryptocurrency theft, investment fraud and scams, lost or inaccessible wallets, asset tracing across wallets and networks, and blockchain investigations more broadly, always explained in language a first time client can follow.

Why our methodology matters

Every engagement follows the same documented process. We favor repeatable analysis over speculation, and we attach honest confidence levels to what we find rather than presenting every conclusion as certain.

What standards we follow

Findings are documented to a standard suitable for legal and exchange use, with clear reasoning behind every attribution claim, and limitations disclosed in every report we deliver.

Confidentiality

Every engagement is governed by a confidentiality agreement. Case information is accessible only to the analysts and case managers assigned to your matter.

What makes us different

We built Coin Trace specifically for people encountering blockchain investigation for the first time, often during one of the most stressful moments they have experienced. Plain language and realistic expectations are not an afterthought. They are the design.

Frequently asked questions

Answers to the questions we hear most from people contacting us for the first time.

Both. We investigate the movement of digital assets, identify actionable recovery paths, and work through the appropriate channels to pursue the return of recoverable funds. Not every case results in a viable recovery path, and we tell you honestly where that is the case.

For qualifying cases where recoverable funds are identified, our fees may be structured around a percentage of successfully recovered assets, agreed with you before any recovery work begins. Investigative work outside of a recovery engagement is billed separately, as discussed during your initial consultation.

Yes. Most of our clients are not technical. Our job is to handle the technical analysis and explain what we find in plain language. You do not need to understand blockchain to work with us.

It depends on complexity. A straightforward tracing matter may be substantially complete within one to two weeks. Cases involving many transfers or several networks often take four to eight weeks. We provide a specific estimate after the initial assessment.

Yes. All case information is handled under a confidentiality agreement, and access within our team is limited to the analysts and case managers assigned to your matter.
